12 year old Kosovo boy with war trauma commits suicide

Express daily reports, on 7th November, that a 12 year old boy, Rexhep Gashi, has committed suicide in the Kosovo (Kosova) village of Muhlan (Movljane), Suhareke (Suva Reka). The exact motive of the suicide is not known. However, his parents say that the boy has witnessed one of the worst massacres during the war in Kosovo during the 1998-1999 war. In the village of Dragaqine (Dragacina), Suhareke (Suva Reka), the boy and his family have witnessed the Serbian police kill, mutilate and subsequently throw in a well, 11 Kosovo Albanians.

At the same time, the family members say, the Serbian police tried to take away Rexhep's younger brother, Arber. Their mother, Ganimete, was able to save the boy by giving them her jewelery. Rexhep's parents say, that he has seen all these atrocities. Rexhep's young cousins have witnessed that too, and the family is now worried about the fate of the other children.
