They should have given Kosovo independence right away in 1999. The six years since the war ended have been bad in the sense that there was no economic development. And that is because of the insecurity about the final status. If Kosovo was independent since 1999 things would have been much better there now. The ethnics tensions wouldn’t have been so high.
